Quality CCTV Systems, Inc. was started in 1989 primarily as a service company for large industrial and commercial clients. As we have grown and matured into a full service Security Integrator we still think like a service company. When you think like a service company you design and install systems to last by using high quality products and utilizing installation best practices. Keeping our customers happy is our number one priority. From the initial survey to routine maintenance, our goal is to provide remarkable service.
When it comes to smart features, we investigate a wide variety of capabilities depending on the type of home security camera. They include monitoring zones, facial recognition, voice control (with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple’s Siri), geofencing, smartphone alerts, two-way audio, scheduling, and zoom/pan controls. All these features factor into our unique Smart IQ score for smart home devices, allowing you to see which cameras are smarter than the competition.
IP-based cameras carry out the same function as analog ones, but with a host of extra capabilities. IP cameras typically offer better images with higher resolution and more flexibility, allowing users to e-mail video images for consultation. In a large organization with many facilities, insurance companies often prefer, and in some cases demand, IP systems.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is sometimes simply called video surveillance. CCTV refers to a system of video feeds that are transmitted within a closed system from various security cameras. CCTV is distinct from broadcast television, in that signals are not sent out for just anyone to intercept. Rather, video streams are available only to authorized users. In practical terms, any home security camera surveillance system is technically a CCTV system. Only you, the user, and your authorized agents, are able to access and review feeds from the cameras in the system.

For a quick response to intruders get a wireless alarm system which can also be controlled with your phone. You will be notified if the siren goes off so you can act quickly. An intercom is a very handy product which will enable you to see who is at the door before you open it or allow them to enter your home. It's good practice for everyone to check but for those more vulnerable it can be an added security measure.

This can give you a huge home security advantage—the ability to remotely control lights, door locks, and your security cameras. You can also program your system to boost security measures when you’re out of town or during the holidays when lots of packages are delivered. If home automation is something that matters to you, keep this in mind when selecting your security camera.

Using a system of CCTV security cameras is an excellent way to maintain a secure location all hours of the day or night. With CCTV designs that can broadcast a live feed over the internet, it's now possible for owners to use their CCTV system to keep an eye on their property from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection. Setting up a CCTV system takes some planning, but a little forethought goes a long way to having a working system that can help to give you peace of mind.
While the Nest Cam is one of the more expensive stand-alone security cameras for home use, it makes our list for high resolution and its seamless integration with the rest of the Nest home automation suite. It has two-way talk capability and an incredible 8x digital zoom. The Nest Cam doesn’t have any pan or tilt capabilities, but with its enormous 130° field of view, the motion isn’t as necessary. Although the Nest Cam costs nearly $200, you can find discounts for ordering multiple units at once. Its average rating on Amazon is 4.2 stars with over 6,000 ratings.
Network cameras can be used for very cheap surveillance solutions (requiring one network camera, some Ethernet cabling, and one PC), or to replace entire CCTV installations (cameras become network cameras, tape recorders become DVRs, and CCTV monitors become computers with TFT screens and specialised software. Digital video manufacturers claim that turning CCTV installations into digital video installations is inherently better).

In Sweden, the use of CCTV in public spaces is nationally regulated; requiring permits for any operator (incl. Swedish Police Authority) to install CCTV in public spaces. In an opinion poll commissioned by Lund University in August 2017, the general public of Sweden were asked to choose one measure that would ensure their need for privacy when subject to CCTV-operation in public spaces. 43% favored regulation in the form of clear routines for managing, storing and distributing image material generated from surveillance cameras, 39% favored regulation in the form of clear signage informing that camera surveillance in public spaces is present, 2% favored regulation in the form of having permits restricting the use of surveillance cameras during certain times of day/week, 10% favored regulation in the form of having restrictive policies for issuing permits for surveillance cameras in public spaces. 6% were unsure or did not know.[107]
Recording versus real-time monitoring - Some cameras are designed to be used as after-the-fact evidence, and as such they record everything they see and back it up onto a data storage system of some kind. Others are intended for more real-time purposes and should be used alongside a security team that is watching the cameras for any illicit activities. Some models of camera are capable of doing both of these things, they can record everything they see to a disk or the cloud, while at the same time being monitored from a security station where they can be remotely operated to keep an eye on an ever-changing scene.
There is strong anecdotal evidence that CCTV aids in detection and conviction of offenders; indeed UK police forces routinely seek CCTV recordings after crimes.[32] Moreover, CCTV has played a crucial role in tracing the movements of suspects or victims and is widely regarded by antiterrorist officers as a fundamental tool in tracking terrorist suspects. Large-scale CCTV installations have played a key part of the defences against terrorism since the 1970s. Cameras have also been installed on public transport in the hope of deterring crime,[33][34] and in mobile police surveillance vehicles, often with automatic number plate recognition, and a network of APNI-linked cameras is used to manage London's congestion charging zone.

Excellent product, great quality images, easy to set up and superb after sales support if needed. I bought the system after my father was scammed by a bogus builder I now feel far more secure that with this system in plain view and recording 27/7 my dads home will not be a target for such criminals again, and the very reasonable cost was a small price to pay for such peace of mind.
Experiments in the UK during the 1970s and 1980s, including outdoor CCTV in Bournemouth in 1985, led to several larger trial programs later that decade. The first use by local government was in King's Lynn, Norfolk, in 1987.[25] These were deemed successful in the government report "CCTV: Looking Out For You", issued by the Home Office in 1994, and paved the way for an increase in the number of CCTV systems installed. Today, systems cover most town and city centres, and many stations, car-parks and estates.
I bought the 4ch 720p HD NVR a little over 3 months ago. I waited to write a review because you really don't know the value of what you got until ample time has passed. Last May while sitting on my back deck enjoying the warm spring morning, movement within my neighbors brush pile shed caught my attention. It was 4 small kittens playing. I quietly sleeked over to get a closer look. Sure enough, they still had blue eyes so they were only a couple weeks old if that. 2 grey ones with black stripes and dots, a mostly black one with splaters of tan, white and orange and an adorable rambunctious blonde one. I watched for a while but knew momma probably would be back soon so not wanting to spook her and have her move them, I went back to my deck. I went inside and ... full review
Ok I have been testing the unit and for the price the cameras give very good clean video ,camera's connect up to the NVR wit out problem , NVR works well and is very flexible in its operation , night vision good very clear , motion detection works well. The camera's are not equiped to pick up sound , but the NVR can record sound , the camera's are not PTZ.

Even though 1080p is generally the standard resolution for cameras we've tested, there are benefits to cameras with higher resolution sensors. Few home security cameras have optical zoom lenses, but almost all have digital zoom, which crop and enlarge whatever the camera is recording. The more megapixels a camera sensor has, the more you can digitally zoom in and still be able to see things clearly.
A video magnifier, or closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, uses a stand-mounted or handheld video camera to project a magnified image onto a video monitor, a television (TV) screen, or a computer monitor. Cameras with zoom lenses provide variable magnification. In most of these systems, magnification level and focus are set after choosing a comfortable and functional working distance between the camera and the material to be viewed. Some systems use an auto-focus camera. Lower cost video magnifiers often use cameras that have a fixed focus and cannot vary magnification or camera-to-target distance. Most cameras also need their own light source.

If you want a comprehensive home security system and good customer service, Frontpoint is the perfect choice.
Unfortunately I purchased 4 cameras that look just like these, thinking I was going to save $14.00 per camera for the same camera. Boy was I wrong!! These cameras are true 1080p and work perfectly right out of the box. They are well aligned and focused. The clarity is really great. Night vision is true 1080p at around 40ft, but still can see pretty good after that. These cameras are what you need to buy, and don't go cheap.

In September 1968, Olean, New York was the first city in the United States to install video cameras along its main business street in an effort to fight crime.[22] Another early appearance was in 1973 in Times Square in New York City.[23] The NYPD installed it in order to deter crime that was occurring in the area; however, crime rates did not appear to drop much due to the cameras.[23] Nevertheless, during the 1980s video surveillance began to spread across the country specifically targeting public areas.[15] It was seen as a cheaper way to deter crime compared to increasing the size of the police departments.[23] Some businesses as well, especially those that were prone to theft, began to use video surveillance.[23] From the mid-1990s on, police departments across the country installed an increasing number of cameras in various public spaces including housing projects, schools and public parks departments.[23] CCTV later became common in banks and stores to discourage theft, by recording evidence of criminal activity. In 1998, 3,000 CCTV systems were in use in New York City.[24] A study by Nieto in 2008 found many businesses in the United States had invested heavily in video surveillance technology to protect products and promote safe workplace and consumer environments. A nationwide survey of a wide variety of companies found that 75 percent utilize CCTV surveillance. In private sector CCTV surveillance technology is operated in a wide variety of establishments such as in industry/manufacturing, retailing, financial/insurance/banking, transportation and distribution, utilities/communications, health care, and hotels/motels, parking areas, jewelry shops.

In 2007, China's television audience rose to 1.2 billion.[34] The 2008 Summer Olympics coverage on CCTV resulted in an aggregate 41% audience share across its network.[35] As content becomes more diversified, there have been concerns about the audience share, as CCTV is losing out to cable, satellite and regional networks.[36] In Guangzhou for example, CCTV programming only accounts for 45% of the weekly audience share,[37] while in Shanghai, local stations also have share over CCTV.[38] However, the CCTV New Year's Gala remains extremely popular; it acquires more than 90% audience share over the nation.[27]
